What to Do in Derbyshire During February Half-Term

It’s almost time for February Half-term and while others may be thinking of heading to the slopes - why not stay in England and head off to beautiful Derbyshire?

Snowdrops abound and while we have an impressive selection of our own at Stainsborough Hall - there are bigger displays around us for you to visit.

There’s plenty going on and many of our local attractions are putting special events on for half-term. Here are just a few ideas of what’s on offer and reasons why you should come to stay!

Carsington Water is putting on a free nature trail (and it’s right on our doorstep).

Chatsworth is holding some special events in the farmyard.

Come pet the animals and more!

The Heights of Abraham have a special I-spy tea challenge

for youngsters taking place.

You can meet the new piglets and chicks or walk with alpaca’s during the

Matlock Farm Park half-term activity program

Kids will be travelling free - if they bring a teddy bear - on the steam trains at Ecclesbourne Railway during half-term.

The Derbyshire Wildlife Trust are holding some events specifically geared towards the younger audience.

You can hook-a-duck from the fountains of Thornbridge Hall

or try their arts and crafts.

Meanwhile at Cromford Mills you can meet Derbyshire Makers and try your hand at a range of arts and crafts.

Come and join the fun!
